1671, Fall, following a demonstration of the image quality of Newton’s telescope, by Isaac Barrow, the Royal Society nominated Newton for membership.
1672, Feb 19, N (29) publishes “New Theory about Light and Colors,” in Philosophical Transactions.
1673, Dutch Astronomer Christiaan Huygens disagrees with Newton (30) on the nature of light.
